The Human Technopole Foundation is looking for the Senior Manager of Multi-omics Technologies, which is part of the Genomics Core Facility:

The successful candidate will report directly to the Chair of the Facility Steering committee

They will be responsible for setting up and maintaining a facility capable of state-of-the-art, high-throughput sequencing-based multi-omics technologies applied to a variety of bio-samples, including bulk tissues and single cells. Strong emphasis will be put on single-cell multi omics approaches combining multiple functional layers, including in-situ profiling and cell tracing approaches for spatially and temporally resolved single cell analytics. They will also be expected to contribute to the development of new protocols and the rapid standardization/implementation of new approaches for bespoke needs. New methodologies are expected to derive from the collaborative interactions with other groups at HT or by implementing selected priority areas. A key mission will be to enable internal and external users to make use of the facility. They will be involved in the recruitment, training and mentoring of facility staff.

Key tasks and responsibilities

The Senior Manager of the Multi-omic Technologies, will:

be responsible for implementing priorities and resource planning for the facility;
help select, lead and mentor facility staff, including first-line computational support;
supervise sample preparation as well as data collection and evaluation support;
cooperate with other groups to implement novel technologies;
ensure the multi-omics research support is world-class;
manage funding and access charges with periodic review to ensure sustainability and competitiveness;
constantly optimise protocols and maximise cost-effectiveness;
closely follow technological developments that could benefit the facility;
interact with the manufacturers and engineers of the relevant equipment;
organise introductions and assistance for new users of the facility;
prepare for facility reviews by external experts;
participate actively in the overall development of HT core facilities;
report regularly on progress to the genomics user group and its chair;
help design and advise IT services to meet facility and user requirements;
build effective links and collaborations within HT;
develop links with other national and international genomics facilities/labs in single cell omics technologies;
support third-party fundraising where possible.
Job requirements
Requirements:

+5 years of hands-on experience in the use of a variety of multi-omics technologies;
PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject, e.g. molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry or a related field of science;
Previous experience in equivalent managerial role in Genomics Core Facility/Genomics projects;
Documented experience in operating and developing omics protocols for high throughput analysis of tissues and single cells using next generation sequencing;
Experience in sample preparation, including human tissues, for single-cell dissociation and profiling;
Ability to set up and coordinate bioinformatics analysis of multi-omics data;
Excellent laboratory skills and trouble-shooting;
Ability to interact effectively with other teams and work synergistically to drive projects forward;
Meticulous organization;
Fluency in English – HT is an international research institute;
Proven leadership, communication, team building and problem-solving skills.
The role will be based in Milan.
